Every Day, A New Story at VIT Chennai
When I first joined VIT Chennai, I was nervous to the core. After finishing school, the idea of staying away from home, meeting strangers, handling academics, and living independently felt like a huge mountain to climb. I kept asking myself , will I adjust? Will I make friends? Or will I just end up feeling homesick every day?
Once I stepped onto the campus, things felt different. The open spaces, greenery, and lively students made me feel at ease, and my nervousness slowly faded. Making friends turned out to be easier than I thought. At first, it started with small gestures—a smile in the hostel corridor, a “hi” in the cafeteria, or asking someone to join a group for a project. Those small interactions quickly grew into conversations that lasted hours. We shared stories about our hometowns, school life, and our expectations from college. From late-night chats in the hostel to helping each other with assignments, these connections made me feel supported and comfortable. Before I knew it, I had a circle of people who made every day lighter and more fun.
Academics, though challenging, were manageable with the help of professors and friends. Group studies with friends became a fun way to understand tough topics, and late-night discussions in the hostel turned studying into something enjoyable rather than stressful. And honestly, life here is not just about classes. There is always something happening on campus cultural fests, technical events, club activities, and much more. Cultural fests bring music, dance, and creativity to life, while technical events challenge your problem-solving skills and innovation. Joining clubs lets me
meet like-minded people, learn new hobbies, or even lead small projects Every day brings something new, and that’s what makes life at VIT Chennai exciting.
Looking back, I smile at how worried I was in the beginning. Today, life here feels like a mix of learning, fun, and memories I will carry forever.
